He is a university professor, computer scientist, psychologist, consultant, and researcher specializing in teaching and studying Human-AI collaboration, cognitive sciences, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). His current work focuses on studying decision-making processes in human-AI collaborative environments, integrating cognitive science principles into the design of AI-based systems.
Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of Manchester, contributing to data science projects in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute, Europe's largest AI research institute. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, where his work focused on studying HCI in decision-making processes.
He also earned an MSc in Management Science from the London School of Economics (LSE), an MBA from the University of London, and a degree in psychology from City University London, and is a registered psychologist with the BPS (in the UK). Professor Reani's multidisciplinary skills range from computer science to psychology, including behavioral economics and cognitive sciences, with the goal of understanding and improving human decision-making processes through the application of technology.
His research portfolio includes articles published in prestigious international journals and conferences, in both computer science and psychology. He previously held research and teaching roles at the University of Manchester, the Alan Turing Institute, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ), and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
